Overview

In 1989 Dr. Balsara joined the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science and is currently serving as a Professor of Electrical Engineering. From 2002 to 2013 he served as the Associate Department Head for Graduate Studies. He also consults for industry and has spent few summers as visiting researcher in local companies. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, a book that was translated in Japanese, and has three granted and one filed patents.

Dr. Balsara is a Fellow of the IEEE and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He has served as a reviewer for several IEEE journals and conferences and has been a member of several conference technical program committees.

Research Interests

VLSI design, power electronics, techniques for the design of energy efficient systems, digitally-intensive / digitally-assisted mixed-signal circuits, and application-specific architectures.
