Education

Overview

Prof. Dongsheng Brian Ma received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He joined Louisiana State University as an Assistant Professor in 2003. From 2004 to 2010, he was with the University of Arizona, where he was the Analog Devices Chair Assistant Professor and then promoted as an Associate Professor with tenure in 2009. Currently, he is an Erik Jonsson Distinguished Chair and Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Dallas.

Prof. Ma's current scholarly products include 1 book, 3 book chapters, 5 patents, over 130 peer-reviewed scientific papers, and over 95 international speaking engagements. He is a recipient of over 20 society awards, professorships and fellowships, including US National Science Foundation CAREER Award (2009), Analog Devices Chair Professorship (2004-2008), TxACE Chair Professorship (2010-2012), Erik Jonsson Distinguished Chair Professorship (2012-2015). He was also the recipient or co-recipient of Best Design Award in IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference Asia & South Pacific (2004), Best Student Paper Award in IEEE Midwest Symposium on Circuits & Systems (2009), Best Poster Paper Award in International Workshop on Electronics in Frontiers (2011), Best Student Paper Award of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (2012), Outstanding Presentation Award in IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference & Exposition (2013), and Best in Session Awards in SRC TECHCON (2012 and 2013).

Prof. Ma serves on Technical Committee of the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductor (ITRS). He also serves in Executive Committee and as Thrust Leader in Energy Efficiency at SRC TxACE Center.
