EE/CE/TE PhD Degree Requirements

Our electrical engineering, computer engineering and telecommunications engineering doctoral programs require students to have a PhD Advisor (Either an ECE faculty member or an ECE Affiliate), a degree plan, minimum 75 course semester hours beyond the baccalaureate, and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or better.



Semester Credit Hours

Required graduate level courses; (a Master’s degree satisfies this requirement)


Combined research (EEGR/CE/TE 8V70) and additional graduate level courses


Dissertation (EEGR/CE/TE 8V99)



75 (minimum)
