The Computer Engineering program at UT Dallas combines broad areas of electrical engineering and computer science. The program deals with the sensing, processing, and transmission of information, using principles centered on system-level design, computer architecture and computer applications. Computer engineering concerns the design, construction, implementation and maintenance of software and hardware components of modern computing systems and computer-controlled equipment. The Computer Engineering Program prepares students for successful and rewarding careers that deal with computer systems from design through implementation.
The Bachelor of Science program in Computer Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, abet.org. You can verify our ABET accreditation by visiting: ABET Accreditation. Enrollment and graduation data can be found here.
The Fast Track program is designed to accelerate a student’s education so that both BS and MS degrees can be earned in approximately five years of full-time study. The Fast Track program in Computer Engineering enables exceptionally gifted undergraduate students in their senior year to include approved master’s level courses as part of an undergraduate degree plan. When Fast Track students graduate with a bachelor’s degree, they are automatically admitted to graduate school at UT Dallas without need to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).
