Overview

Dr. Bhatia leads research in the IDEA Laboratory. His research investigations have spanned the fields of Architecture and Computer-Aided Design for Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), Reconfigurable Computing, Power Conversion Methods, and Healthcare Devices. Recent research in power conversion has resulted in breakthrough results and founding of a startup company, Cirasys Corporation. Cirasys has received initial funding from NSF, UT System, and Texas Emerging Technology Fund. His current research focus is in the areas of Domain-Specific Computing architectures with applications in AI and High-Performance Computing.

 

He has served on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Computers, has served as general chair for International Conference on Body Sensor Networks, and was IEEE Circuits and Systems society’s distinguished lecturer. He is experienced in IP litigation and has participated in technology evaluation for startup and small businesses.
