Research Assistants
Research assistants (RAs) are supported by individual ECE faculty through faculty members’ research grants. Prospective students may contact faculty members directly to discuss their research interests and possible RA support. Please contact our tenure system faculty or affiliated faculty to view our Faculty Research Interests.
Prospective students who are interested in RA positions may also participate in the ECE Research Assistant Opportunity Survey.
The Texas Analog Center of Excellence
The Texas Analog Center of Excellence (TxACE) at UT Dallas offers two merit-based fellowships to top full-time graduate students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in areas related to analog circuits. For details, please visit the Jonsson School Fellowships page.
Teaching Assistants
Teaching assistants (TAs) are selected and supported by the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department based on students’ academic merit and prior teaching experience. After admission to the ECE Department, to be considered for Teaching Assistantship (TA) awards, students are required to submit Online TA application:
- Applications are accepted between Feb 1 and Feb 15 of each academic year for consideration of TA awards in the upcoming academic year. Online TA Applications begin every February 1st at 8:00 am and are due February 15th at 5:00 pm.
- Current TAs are also required to apply for renewal of their assistantships.
- The Online TA Application is active and available only during the application period.
- The TA Application Review Timeline are as follows:
- Pre-Review Processing: February 16 – March 1
- Review Period: March 2
- Results are announced before April 30
