MiNDs (Micro/Nano Devices and Systems Laboratory)

OVERVIEW

The Micro/Nano Devices and Systems Laboratory (MiNDs) focuses on studying a variety of micro- and submicron scale multifunctional devices and systems for biomedical, sensing, photonics, and RF/microwave applications. Selected examples of recent researches include a fullyintegrated wireless implantable micro pump and pressure sensing system for osteoporosis treatment and bone augmentation, liquid metal-based flexible (bendable, foldable) tunable meta surfaces in the X-band for stealth application, surface acoustic wave microfluidic devices for cardiovascular study, and field deployable miniaturized platforms for greenhouse gas detection. Sponsors of recent research of the MiNDs Lab include the NSF,NASA, USDA, NIH, Air Force, Samsung, and DARPA.
