The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Dallas invites you to support the inaugural ExCEllence in Senior Design showcase presented by Würth Elektronik that will bring the top-rated university design teams in the southwest to face off against one other this May 2019. Judged on their design accomplishments and presentations, awards will be presented to recognize achievement in a variety of categories.

Senior Design Showcase

An important part of an engineering student’s collegiate experience is the opportunity to participate in a national competition to prove their design and technical skills while bringing prestige to their University through their accomplishments. Unfortunately, such a national contest does not exist for electrical and computer engineering (ECE) students. The University of Texas at Dallas wants to change that by holding the first ECE competition on May 25, 2019. In its inaugural year, UT Dallas is partnering with the member universities of the southwest region of the ECE Department Head Association to enter their highest rated design team.

Goal of the Senior Design Showcase

The goal of the challenge is to provide an opportunity for ECE students in the southwest region to showcase their design and problem solving skills in a friendly competition. College teams of four (4) students are required to design and build a prototype for an electrical and computer engineering problem they selected. Student teams will be judged on their design accomplishments and presentations. Awards will be presented to recognize achievement in a variety of categories.
