Computer Engineering

Enrolled students will study the design, construction, implementation and maintenance of software and hardware components of modern computing systems and computer-controlled equipment. A combination of computer science and electrical engineering, the computer engineering program prepares students for careers dealing with computer systems from design through implementation.

  • Successfully pursue a diverse range of careers as computer engineers, consultants, educators and/or entrepreneurs as well as pursue advanced education.
  • Be effective contributors and leaders in both professional and personal settings.
  • Serve their profession and/or employer in a responsible, ethical, creative and enthusiastic manner to meet the needs of industry and society.

  • An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  • An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.

  • An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
